This past Sunday, I had the distinct pleasure of photographing the 1st birthday party of a sweet, expressive, blue eyed cutie named Julianna. I am lucky enough to know Julianna's mom (or Lauren as she was known pre-baby) from working with her at a Philadelphia event planning company waaaaay back in 2008 -2009. I know, I know - not really
waaaaay back. I was a fresh college grad then, and my life has changed so quickly, it really seems like a lifetime ago.
The last few days Lauren spent with that company, were with me, stuck in a hotel for 48 hours straight running a conference. I don't think either one of us would want to re-live that particular weekend, but the time is indeed, something I look back on fondly. I learned a ton professionally and got to know Lauren a bit better as well. Through the magic of Facebook, we've been able to keep up with each others lives. It seems that 5 years was sufficient enough time to recover from being trapped in windowless rooms together with clueless, hungry conference goers. If we could survive that, certainly a one year old's birthday party would be a piece of cake. Smooshy, drooled on, cake.
Here is a little sneak peak of some of the photos from Sunday's festivities. The theme was
Mermaid Lagoon which was expressed in the loveliest touches throughout the party. A fishy themed make & take candy bar, sand castle centerpieces, beach pails for the favors and Ariel even made a cameo appearance! Can you tell Lauren does this whole event thing for a living? Julianna is certainly a loved and lucky little girl!

Lovely theme setting invitations so party guests knew to bring their best sea shell bra! |

This hat. Seriously the best. Accompanied by the aftermath of cake + baby. |

Julianna figures out what icing feels like. Isn't that high chair just darling? Labor of love by Dad! |

As the party was winding down, we went outside for some quick extended family shots. |

It was a beautiful day and a beautiful party. I am so glad that I got to play a little part in it!
